Source Reliability

Use the information below to help you determine if sources are trustworthy.

Check Your Source

Does the headline sound unrealistic?

Check the URL. Does it have any odd suffixes? Is it a site anyone can publish?

Are there clues the author might be biased? For example, are they trying to sell a product?

Are the pictures different from what the text says?

If you consult other sources with a quick online search, do they say something different?

If you answered YES to any of the questions above, then your source might not be reliable.
